Lend Me A Tenor To Close

It was just announced today that the Tony nominated new revival of Lend Me A Tenor will play it's final performance at the Music Box Theatre on August 15, 2010. The show which began previews on March 12 officially opened on April 4. The reason for the closing is due to the actor's contracts ending on that date. It's a shame they couldn't find away to keep the actor's around or find suitable replacements as the show was one of the funniest ones that I have seen in years. Scheduled to follow the show at the Music Box Theatre is the new revival of the 1991 flop Le Bete starring Tony Award winners David Hyde Pierce and Mark Rylance. Previews are set to begin on September 23 with opening night scheduled for October 14. Prior to it's Broadway opening it will play a limited engagement at the Comedy Theatre is London from June 26-September 4.
