That's right theatre fans. The new Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet has just announced that tickets are now on sale thru November 21,201. The show which received 3 Tony nominations including Best Musical opened at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre on April 11 following an acclaimed run at Chicago's Apollo Theatre. For those of you not familiar with the show here is a synopsis of the show provided by the shows press agent.
"On Dec. 4, 1956 an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley together. The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll,' who discovered them all. The four legends-to-be united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock jam sessions of all time."
The show also received nominations for Best Orchestrations and for Levi Kreis(Jerry Lee Lewis)for Best Featured Actor in A Musical. Now while I don't expect the show to win any awards a good performance at the Tony's should raise it's profile and hopefully give it a bump at the box office. We shall see.
By the way for those of you who are looking for tickets to see the show then you have come to the right place.
