Tony Award Winner Alice Ripley To Exit Next To Normal This Summer

That's right theatre fans. It was announced today that Alice Ripley will exit the Tony Award winning production of Next To Normal on July 18. Also leaving that day will be her co-star and Tony nominee Brian Darcy James who joined the show last week following his year long run as the title role in Shrek. Ripley who has been part of the cast since it's Off-Broadway run in 2008 will headline the National tour which launches in Los Angeles on November 23, 2010. At this time no replacements have been announced. Additional cities on the tour include San Diego, Seattle, Des Moines, Providence, Hartford, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, St. Paul, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Charlotte and Washington, DC.

Now while I loved the show I'm not sure how it will play in the road. For those of you who have seen Next To Normal it is a very intimate show. I hope that they select small venues for the tour. Regardless it is still one of the most powerful and emotional shows that I have ever seen. See it if it comes to a theatre near you. It is amazing. Now for those of you who who want to see Alice Ripley in her Tony Award winning performance before she leaves you still have plenty of time. In fact if you call now you can get tickets to see Next To Normal at some incredible rates. Good seats are still available so call now. See Next To Normal on Broadway or when it comes to a city near you.
