Now let me start off by saying that while I enjoyed Wicked when I first saw it over six years ago I never expected it to become the worldwide phenomenon that is has become since it first premiered on Broadway in October 2003. Most people forget that the show did not get very good reviews when it opened or that it lost the Tony Award for Best Musical to Avenue Q. Being a huge Avenue Q fan I was quite happy when it won. Now before you think that I am here to bash Wicked I am not. As I said before I enjoyed the show. I just never thought I would still be blogging about it all these years later.
Yet here we are in 2010 and the show is still going strong with no end in sight. Not only is Wicked still the most popular show on Wicked but it is our most requested show here at Applause. Now unless something else with the appeal of Wicked comes in I don't see that changing.By the way for those of you who haven't seen Wicked yet and trust me there are very few who haven't then do I have some great news for you. Now is the best time to see Broadway's most popular show. Not only that but at prices lower then you will find anywhere else. Sounds good doesn't it? Get your tickets to see Wicked on Broadway.You will love it.
