The Lion King on Broadway still Roars with Excitement

Most people I talk to on Broadway are fans of Disney. After all, all of their shows play for several years to near capacity crowds, particularly at the beginning of their run on Broadway. Although many think Disney shows are for children, I have seen them all and they are really intended for the entire family, just like their amusement parks.

Since I am in the business of Broadway ticket sales and tourism to New York City, I thought I would write a simple blog about The Lion King, Disney's second Broadway show following Beauty and the Beast. The Lion King is a show that people go back to see over and over again. And its no wonder when you think about the fact that The Lion King won six Tony Awards in 1988 including the coveted Best Musical award.

The Lion King has an exhilarating musical score with Music by Elton John and Lyrics by Tim Rice as well as the most unique puppetry ever seen on stage. The Lion King tells an emotional story of a young royal heir named Simba and the animals of the African Pride Lands. The most innovative Costume Design imaginable and outstanding Direction of The Lion King is by Julie Taymor. The show plays every day except for Mondays.

If you think you want to see one of the most popular and creative shows to ever play Broadway, you might want to call Applause Theater Service, a locally licensed New York ticket agency to obtain tickets. Although Applause specializes in obtaining tickets for many Broadway Shows at BELOW FACE VALUE, The Lion King's popularity will require patrons that will pay full price plus a reasonable service charge. Still, when you consider what great theater you get once your inside the Minskoff Theater on Broadway, you'll know the price you paid was well worth it.

And just to give you some added extra benefit for reading our Broadway Ticket News blog, you might want to consider having a look at Restaurant Row, a place where we recommend 16 different restaurants in the Broadway Theater District. We often dine on Restaurant Row before going to the theater ourselves.

The friendly Broadway ticket experts at Applause are waiting to hear from you now. Enjoy The Lion King or the Broadway show of your choice.

Sincerely,
Rich Gladstone
