After the Broadway revival of “Guys and Dolls” opened to mixed to negative reviews, the producers held discussions about the show’s future and decided to keep it running, according to several theater industry sources familiar with the talks.These sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity in order to disclose private discussions, said the producers had confidence in the quality and popular appeal of the production, directed by Des McAnuff (”Jersey Boys”) and starring Oliver Platt as Nathan Detroit and Lauren Graham as Miss Adelaide.

The producers were also discussing how to market the show, given the dearth of positive blurbs from critics that usually run in advertisements. “Guys and Dolls” has been playing to near-capacity recently, filling 96.3 percent of its seats during performances last week.
