Matthew Broderick Stars in The Philanthropist-Opening Night on Broadway is April 26, 2009

Matthew Broderick fans are in for a real treat this Spring as a revival of The Philanthropist opens on Broadway at the American Airlines Theater on April 26, 2009. Mr. Broderick has been the recipient of 2 Tony Awards, most recently for The Producers.

In The Philanthropist, he plays a university professor who constantly tries to show his peers that in a world full of lies, people being rude and public ridicule, that he can remain a person of goodness and honesty. Christopher Hampton is the writer (he also wrote Les Liasons Dangereuses) and direction is by David Grindley (Pygmalion).
