Tonight, Tonight, See West Side Story on Broadway

My favorite movie growing up was West Side Story. Every time it would come on I would plop myself in front of the Television (black & White) and watch and sing along. I think I knew every word back then. Well my favorite movie is now on Broadway at the Palace Theatre playing to sold out audiences nightly and I couldn't be happier. West Side Story is a modern version of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. It takes place in New York City and tells of the clash over ethnic loyalty and and intense love for one another between Maria who is involved with the Puerto Rican Sharks against Tony who is involved with the Anglo Jets (both street gangs). With a classic score by Leonard Bernstien and Stephen Sondheim and directed by Arthur Larents this remake of West Side Story is sure to be a hit and a show you do not want to miss.
