Two Revivals Begin Previews This Week On Broadway

That's right theatre fans. Two of this season's highly anticipated plays began previews this week on the Great White Way. So what are these plays you ask? Well first up is the new revival of Accent On Youth starring Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce. For those of you in the know Mr. Pierce has been quite the Broadway favorite over the past few years appearing in the hit musical Spamalot and winning his Tony two years ago for his hilarious performance in Curtains. According to press notes, "Accent On Youth tells the story of playwright Stephen Gaye (Pierce) who is about to abandon his latest script, when his young secretary offers him new inspiration. With her as his muse, he stages the show on Broadway, only to learn, to his dismay, that the shows young leading man is being inspired by her too." Sounds like a winner to me.

Next up is the revival of Alan Ayckbourn's The Norman Conquests. The show which was a critical success in London comprises three full length plays. Table Manners, Living Together and Round and Round the Garden. The plays will be performed on a rotating schedule during the week and can also be seen in one day on "Trilogy Saturdays." If the reviews in London are any indication I expect this production to be a big contender come Tony time.
