Irena's Vow To Shutter On June 28

The economy has struck again. It was announced today that Irena's Vow, starring four-time Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh will close on June 28. The show which opened earlier this year to favorable reviews will have played 21 previews and 105 performances when it closes. In a statement producer Daryl Roth said, "Our play, which has truly become the 'People’s Choice,' has been moving audiences to laughter and tears at each and every performance. But unless business improves over the next two weeks, we will sadly be forced to close the production . . . We have recently been blessed by the attendance of Archbishop Timothy Dolan who, after seeing the play, has become an extremely vocal supporter of Irena’s Vow and is enthusiastically spreading the word." Although I did not see the show I have heard nothing but good word of mouth about this touching tale of one woman's struggle during World War II. It's too bad more people will not be able to experience this amazing ahow.
