The racially fueled musical will open at the Shubert Oct. 19 and will feature direction by Tony nominee Christopher Ashley (Xanadu) and choreography by Sergio Trujillo (Next to Normal, Jersey Boys). Tickets are now on sale.
"In the smoky halls and underground clubs of the segregated 50's," press notes state, "a young white DJ named Huey Calhoun fell in love with everything he shouldn't: rock and roll and an electrifying black singer.
Chad Kimball (Lennon, Good Vibrations, Into the Woods, My Life With Albertine) and Montego Glover (The Color Purple, Radiant Baby) starred in the recent engagements of the musical. Casting for the Broadway run will be announced at a later time.

The performance schedule follows: Tuesday through Saturdays at 8 PM, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
