MY FIRST DATE ON BROADWAY

I took my girl friend to see Bye Bye Birdie in 1960 when I was 15 years old. It made me feel so grown-up that I could take her on a date to a Broadway show and also that my folks considered me mature enough to go to a Broadway show. It was considered inappropriate for children because they used words like "damn" and there were innuendos of sex outside of marriage.

Tickets were $8.00 each I believe, which at my minimum wage of $1.00 per hour, cost me more than two days wages. Unfortunately it is almost as bad as that today. However, Applause still is trying to sell tickets BFV (Below Face Value). Why don't you take your special one to see a show or even the kids on a special occasion. Try our BFV tickets and make it a special day for the family or for your special one. Bye Bye Birdie is coming back to Broadway this Fall opening up the brand new Henry Miller Theatre. Previews begin September 10th. Call for tickets at 800-451-9930
