Shrek Is Broadway's "Monster" Hit

I'll be the first to admit when Shrek The Musical was first announced I thought,"Here we go again. Another cartoon on Broadway. Just what we don't need." Prior to seeing the show I had never seen any of the movies and quite frankly I didn't really want too. Animated movie musicals are not really my thing anymore. It was o.k when I was a kid but I am a grown man in my 30's for crying out loud. So there I am at the Broadway Theatre waiting for the show to start knowing full well I would probably not like it. Boy was I wrong. From Shrek's first entrance I was hooked. Every performance from the ensemble to the leads was fantastic and the songs were catchy and fun. If you think Shrek is just another kids show then you are wrong. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this show. I'm certainly no kid and I think it's great. I loved it and I think you will too. So why not give it a try? You'll be glad you did.
