Billy Elliot Is Broadway's New Sensation

Yes I know Billy Elliot technically is not new since it's been running for over eight months. Let me start off by saying that I have never seen the show. Truth be told the show doesn't really interest me. Never has never will. But the figures don't lie. Since it first opened to rave reviews last year Billy Elliot has consistently grossed over a million dollars each week. Not bad for a show most people didn't think would be a big hit. Yes it was one of the biggest shows in the history of the London Theatre but that doesn't mean it will sell here. New York audiences are very finicky. I should know. I am a New Yorker. So whether I like it or not Billy Elliot is here to stay. That you can count on.
