Phantom of the Opera Is Still Going Strong

It's hard to believe that it has been twenty-two years since The Phantom of the Opera opened on Broadway. A lot of shows have come and gone since that time but Phantom is still here playing to packed houses eight times a week at Broadway's Majestic Theatre. The cast recording which has been a favorite of mine ever since I was a kid growing up in Illinois is still one of Broadway's most popular shows. In fact to this day it is still one of our most requested day in and day out. My first and only time seeing the show was over sixteen years ago and I thought it was outstanding.
