It Would of Been Nice to Have Had the Original Cast of Avenue Q Close the Show!

I just read an article recently which interviewed Stephanie D'Abruzzo, the singing actress who was Tony-nominated for creating the roles of Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q about the possibility of returning to close the show with the original cast which would have been wonderful. I mean lets face it, the originals with the exception of John Tartaglia(Shrek) aren't working steady at the moment. At least not with anything meaningful. I'm sure John could have gotten a months leave to close the show.

About whether she had thought about returning to the show for its closing weeks, the actress and puppeteer said, “There were rumors of reuniting the original cast to close the show, but apparently they turned out to be just that, rumors. I never heard anything directly". Shame on the producers! What a way to have gone out! Anyway Ann Harada is back in with other originals and the show should be seen if you haven't yet seen it. It's a laugh a minute. It’s staggering to think that the show opened an entire first-grader’s life ago. The show has had a great run — about six years longer than most people thought it would have had — and certainly this closing is hardly the end. I am sure that we’ll soon be seeing regional and college productions.
