The Norman Conquests are a series of plays, to be seen individually or all in one day if you like. They were written by Alan Ayckbourne, one of the theatre's prolific playwrights. The show is directed by Matthew Warchus.The Norman Conquests recently was the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play Revival as well as the 2009 Drama Desk Award and 2009 Outer Critics Circle Award for the same category. In addition the show received a 2009 New York Drama Critic's Circle Special Citation as well.
The Norman Conquests three plays are called Table Manners, Living Together and Round and Round The Garden. Each of the three plays tells the very funny tale of one catastrophic weekend that happens when six spouses and their in-laws all get together at the family house in the countryside.
