TICKETMAN'S TIPS - Featuring Rich Gladstone, co-owner of Applause Theatre and Entertainment Service.
TIPS ON HOW TO OBTAIN THE BEST SEATS ON BROADWAY My name is Rich Gladstone. I've been a legitimate and licensed ticket agent of the Broadway Theater for over 31 years now. During this time spent selling tickets to thousands of different Broadway Shows to thousands and thousands of New York City vacationers, I am always amazed at how theater-goers often think they need to sit in the orchestra section of a Broadway theater. Let me take a moment or two to suggest how you might obtain the best seats for the best shows, when your plans include a visit to Broadway.
The key is to "talk with a local Broadway ticket expert", or someone that knows a "local Broadway ticket expert". Often the tickets we provide are as a main ingredient in New York City hotel and theater packages. This is where City Escapes comes in! Their terrific packages include very nice accommodations at a very good New York City hotel, sightseeing attractions that could keep you busy all day long if you have the stamina for it, possibly a restaurant meal or two at a local dining spot in the theater district and last but not amazing Broadway Show. Maybe one of the top ones like WICKED, JERSEY BOYS, SOUTH PACIFIC, BILLY ELLIOT, NEXT TO NORMAL or GOD OF CARNAGE.
Earlier I mentioned that most people seem to think they need to sit in the "orchestra" section during a theater production. Did you know that for the same price, Applause can secure seats for a City Escape Holidays package often in much better seating in the "front mezzanine" section of the theater? So, when you think you might need some advice when planning a visit to see a Broadway show or two, simply contact City Escape Holidays or Applause Theater Service (The Broadway Ticket Experts). We both love to talk about New York City and Broadway theater.

Musical. Based on the film about a working-class British boy with dreams that run contrary to family expectations, the London smash-hit musical arrives on Broadway. Set in the North East against the backdrop of the 1984 miners' strike, Billy Elliot is a funny, heart-warming and feel-good celebration of one young boy's dream to become a ballet dancer and triumph over adversity. God of Carnage
Tony Winner: Best Play, Best Performance Leading Actress in a Play (Marcia Gay Harden). Comedy. The masks (and the gloves) come off in this witty dissection of bourgeois values. Two sets of parents meet up to deal with the unruly behavior of their children. Will it be a calm and rational debate between grown-ups about the need to teach kids how to behave properly? Or will it turn into a hysterical night of name-calling, tantrums and tears before bedtime? For complete packages:

West Side Story
Tony Winner: Best Performance Featured Actress in a Musical (Karen Olivo).Musical. In this wonderful revival, West Side Story transposes Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to the gang-ridden streets of Manhattan in the 1950s. In place of Romeo and Juliet are Tony and Maria, two teens torn between ethnic loyalty and their intense, abrupt love for one another. The Leonard Bernstein-Stephen Sondheim score includes "Tonight," "Somewhere," "Maria," "I Have a Love" and "Something's Coming." For complete packages:

Tony Winner: Best Revival of a Musical.Musical. Let the sun shine: The Age of Aquarius is reborn and is profoundly relevant more than 40 years after its initial dawning. This acclaimed production played Central Park last summer.. The musical that created history by bringing rock 'n' roll to the theatrical stage, Hair defines the '60's generation by examining a group of young adults struggling for generational and personal identity, dealing with the Vietnam War, drugs and teenage pregnancy.
