CHRISTMAS IN JULY

I never realized how many people make something out of Christmas in July. Well I am not really going to talk about Christmas in July. I want to tell you about the Radio City Music Hall. Radio City is the largest indoor theatre in the world. It has seats for over 5000. Through the years more than 300 million people have seen shows in Radio City. The construction began in 1929 right after the depression began. It was deemed to be the Palace of the People. The Mighty Wurlitzer is the largest organ in the world. It has two Keyboards and 11 rooms where the pipes are stored. The pipes range from 2 1/2 inches to 32 feet.

Through the years Radio City has become the Christmas capital of the United States and possibly the world. The first Christmas Tree was in 1931. Every year the Garden Chief searches for a Christmas tree anywhere from 75 feet to 100 feet high. The trees have come from as far away as Ottawa Canada. The tree is decorated with over 30,000 lights and is lite right after Thanksgiving and stays up until after January 6, the Feast of the Epiphany (The Magi or Three Kings).

Aside from its size, Radio City is considered a gem of Art Deco syle and architecture. If you have the opportunity to ever visit Radio City, try to give yourself time to see the wondrous work inside.

Applause has a special for the Christmas Spectacular for off peak dates in November. With the purchase of your ticket, you receive a coupon for a free popcorn and a coupon for a free soda or water. You know what you usually pay for these items in a theatre. The Christmas Spectacular is exactly what it is called. The world famous Rockettes are incredible and I don' think anyone ever forgets the living Nativity. All of the animals are real as well as the people representing Mary, Joseph and the Christ Child and the Shepherds and the Three Kings. We have clients that see it every year and never tire of it. It is also unforgettable for your children and grandchildren.

May I suggest that when you are in town you take advantage of our BFV program and see one or more of the many shows on Broadway we have at prices BELOW FACE VALUE. Please don't hesitate to ask our advice not only on the shows but also on restaurants in the area. Let us help you make this coming Christmas Season a memorable one.
